Social Studies - Continue work on Canada Fan Project. Two more provinces need to be done tomorrow, for a total of 7 provinces. Projects will be due on Friday. Remember to do the blue rough draft sheets first!

Science - Finish chapter 1, section 1 Notes on Abiotic Factors.

Math - Complete problems 2-26 Evens on page 46.

Spelling - Do Unit 5 Focus, page 18. Study for pretest.

English - No homework.

Reading - Work on vocabulary 1-4 for "Helen Keller."

Social Studies - Work on Canada project. Province 4 and 5 must be done for Monday. Also, two provinces will be assigned each day next week, so the weekend is a great time to work on extra provinces and get ahead!

Science - Finish questions 1 - 4 (all parts) on page 42, Abiotic Factors.

Math - No math homework.

Spelling - No spelling homework.

English - Think about the letters in your first name. What adjectives start with those letters that you could use to describe yourself?

Reading - No reading homework.

Spelling - Unit 4 Learn, page 15. Rewrite incorrect words 5 times each.

English - Finish final copy of "Prevent Home Fires" essay.

Reading - Finish vocabulary for "Treasure in the Snow."

Don't forget that picture day is this Friday. Students should bring in their order forms and picture money ASAP!

Also, many students have turned in their Younkers tickets, but there are still several to be sold. Please bring in any money that you have as soon as you sell your tickets!

Social Studies - Look over your Canada Jeopardy answers at least 17 times! The test on Canada will be on Monday, September 22.

Science - The test on chapter one will be on Tuesday, September 23.

English - Finish the rough draft of "Prevent Home Fires" essay.

Reading - Library is every Friday. Everyone needs to have a book in their lexile range by Friday, September 26.

The annual Younkers fundraiser started today. Each student was given 3 tickets that sell for $5 each. Students should bring their money in as soon as they sell their tickets. This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the middle school, and your help is greatly appreciated!

Today was the first day of chorus. If you have not returned your permission slip but want to be in chorus, bring it back.

Picture forms were handed out yesterday in homeroom. If you are ordering pictures, bring your money and your order form in as soon as possible.

Book orders are due tomorrow. Bring your order form and money in an envelope if you would like to order an books.

Social Studies - Complete section 3 Vocabulary Builder and Main Ideas worksheets.

Science - We corrected our Chapter Review. No homework.

Math - Complete all problems on worksheet 1-6: Making Bar and Line Graphs.

Spelling - Finish all of page 12, including the Practice and the Writing Word Families.

English - Think about whether or not your home is safe from fire. No other homework.

Reading - We performed our play, Damon and Pythias. No homework.

Chorus begins tomorrow. If you are planning on singing, please bring your signed permission slip with you to class.

Student council and yearbook applications are due this Friday!

Student picture day is next week Friday, September 26. Order forms were sent home today and need to be returned on picture day!

Spelling - Finish page 11, all parts: Learn, Review, and Challenge. Rewrite all misspelled words 5 times each.

English - Today we started gathering ideas for our Fire Prevention Essay, These are due next Wednesday, September 24.

Reading - Practice your part in the Damon and Pythias play. We will be performing them tomorrow.

Don't forget to wear your tennis shoes for kickball!

Science - We went over the notes for section 2. Complete page 19, questions 1-4.

Math - We practiced median and mode. Complete page 15, problems 14-32 EVENS and 35-38 ALL.

Spelling - We worked on unit 2 Learn (page 7) in class. Write the misspelled words from your pretest 5 times each.

English - We wrote the rough draft of our own "Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" stories.

Math - We introduced and practiced mean. On page 14, do problems #1-9 and #34.

Spelling - We started unit 2 and did the focus section in class. Study for the pretest tomorrow.

English - We read Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day and brainstormed 5 terrible things that could happen to us in our lives.

Reading - We started the vocabulary for our next story, Three Strong Women. Numbers 1-3 should be done.

Student Council applications are due on Friday. They can be turned in to the office.

Social Studies: Finish questions 3-5 on page 11.

Math: Skills review: Long Division page 11; 2-22 evens

Spelling: We took the Spelling Unit 1 test today and finished Spelling Unit 1 in class.

English: The final copy of the introductory letter to the specials teachers is due on Monday.

Reading: Students turned in their comprehension questions today and worked on their collages.

Social Studies: We worked on the Meridians of Latitude worksheet.

Science: We read and took notes through page 11. Problems 1-2 should be completed (we worked on these in class).

Math: We worked on organizing data using tables. Do problems #6 and #7 on worksheet 1-2 (Problem Solving Strategy: Make a Table).

Spelling: Study for Post Test #1. If you misspelled any of your words on your "5 times each" homework, please re-do these and bring them back. If you have not covered your spelling book, do so tonight.

English: Finish the rough draft of our Friendly Letter. If you want to type your final draft at home, you may.

Reading: We read the end of our first story, An Unlikely Heroine. We started the comprehension questions; if you would like to finish them for homework, you will be ahead of schedule.

If you have not turned in your signed permission to use the internet (page 25 in your handbook) or your recognition of rules (page 33 in your handbook), please sign and return them to the teacher by TOMORROW. The recognition of bus rules goes to your bus driver.

Social Studies: Meridians of Longitude worksheet

Math: Organizing and displaying data, worksheet ch1 lesson 1

Spelling: We took pretest 1 today and students will write their misspelled words five times each.

English: Finish up the "All About Me" information sheet.

Reading: We finished the vocabulary words today and started reading the story.

Please look over the student handbook in the front of the student planners (assignment notebooks) and sign page 25 and 33. The top of page 33 goes to the bus driver and the bottom half along with page 25 gets turned into the classroom teacher.

Math: We worked on collecting data and made a frequency table in class, no homework

Spelling: Did the focus together. Study for Pretest 1.

English: We did the front side of "All About Me" and worked on our collage. Please remember to bring in pictures from a magazine for your collage.

Reading: We started the vocabulary in class 1-3 and will finish 4 and 5 tomorrow as we read the story aloud.

Students can bring a snack for math class and a water bottle. Also, if you have P.E. tomorrow, bring the correct shoes.
